About Ms. Sumaiya Al Maimany

About Scholar – Sumaiya Mohammed Shafi Al-Maimany

Sumaiya Mohammed Shafi Al-Maimany is a distinguished humanitarian leader, Islamic scholar, media professional, and public relations strategist whose work bridges Shari‘ah scholarship, leadership development, and community service across local and international platforms.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Shari‘ah and Islamic Studies from Kuwait University, a Master’s degree in Public Relations and Corporate Reputation from the British Royal Institute, and a Diploma in Humanitarian Leadership from the American University for Humanities. She is also a certified professional trainer through the DACUM Institute for Consulting & Training.

In 2023, she served as Manager of the Volunteer Work Department at the International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO), leading structured volunteer initiatives and community impact programs. She is the Founder of the Dinarain Youth Education Initiative and a founding member of the Noor Boubyan Community Program for Eye Surgery in Africa.

Sumaiya has delivered extensive training programs in Kuwait and internationally, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey, Serbia, Niger, Indonesia, Switzerland, Britain, and Uganda. Her signature youth program, “My University, My Personality Factory,” has been presented in schools, universities, and institutes to cultivate identity, leadership, and civic responsibility among students.

A recognized media personality, she hosted the daily radio program “Ataa Hawwa’” on Kuwait Radio (2018) and works as a writer and media consultant for the Nashiri website. She is an active member of the Kuwait Journalists Association, Bahrain Public Relations Association, and the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and has served on juries for the Boubyan Bank Community Service Award and the Geneva Youth Award for Humanitarian Work under the supervision of the Red Cross.

Her contributions to humanitarian service and journalism have earned her numerous prestigious honors, including the Kuwait Sash for Humanitarian Impact awarded at the Amiri Diwan in 2019, the Hope Makers Award sponsored by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in 2017, and multiple national awards in journalism and volunteerism.

Through scholarship, leadership training, media engagement, and humanitarian initiatives, Sumaiya Al-Maimany continues to empower youth, strengthen institutions, and promote ethical, impactful community development across the Muslim world and beyond.
